    3. Hi all Am new to this list. I was wondering if anyone could tell me if the 1st Battalion of Queen's Royal Regiment of West Surrey served in the Boer War. I am looking for an Arthur CHEEPER who was a L. Sergeant, and thought maybe he was killed over there and is buried there. He was born in 1869. Can someone do a lookup in the relevant files for me? I'm not sure if this can be done or not, so I'm sorry if this query is not possible. Cheers from Australia Anne Kratzmann Windera Qld Australia [email protected]

    3. Hello Anne, The 2nd Battalion was heavily involved in the war and the 3rd (Militia) Battalion was present in the later stages but the 1st Battalion wasn't there although small numbers of men may well have served on attachment to other units. There is no man by the name of Cheepers in any unit in the casualty rolls.
