Hi Everyone Steve Becker turned up an interesting 1AIF digger, Mark BEWICK of 2LHR. See www.awm.gov.au/database/133/page.asp?Folder=4&Page=74&Surname=bewick His WWI service record claims duty with the Intelligence Corps in Ladysmith as well as with the Natal Carbineers plus 2 years with the Imperial Light Horse including during the Zulu Rebellion. The intriguing part is that he claims to be only 25 in 1914. His next of kin is still shown as being in Ladysmith in 1914 so the story could have some credibility despite his age during the siege.
