Hi listers, Can anyone tell me anything about col. Johann Wilhelm Colenbrander's column's(Kitchener's Fighting Scouts) movements round about 15 October 1901. I have a problem with the date of death of a great-uncle of mine . He was killed on the day Col Colenbrander's troops destroyed the houses on the Zoutpan settlement (near Ellisras/Lephalele) According to the claims for compensation it was the 15th of October 1901. The date on his headstone is 22nd of November 1900. I am trying to find out when Colenbrander's troops was in that vicinity, though I think the date on the claims form is the correct one, the headstone was erected a long time after the war. Hetta give me a day or two to find the info. My grandfather was 2nd I/C to Collenbrander and I have written up that story but have to get the file down.
