Hi List, Please does anyone know if death certificates where issued for servicemen that died in the wars? I would really appreciate any help. Regards Bernadette
Hi Bernadette and all: The English ONS GRO (Office of National Statistics, General Registry Office) has Anglo-Boer War deaths indexed in the microfiche ONS No. F533-F539: "Natal and South African Field Force Deaths 1899-1902 (Regular and Irregular Forces)". But I think that their death certificates for the Boer and other wars are rather basic ie mainly surname, initials, age (?) and date/place of death? See website: http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/research/thefamilyrecordscentre/index.asp For Anglo-Boer War deaths try the website: http://www.lib.sun.ac.za/roh/roh.exe?MenuItem=Home Yours, John Wilson (New Zealand) > Please does anyone know if death certificates were issued for > servicemen that died in the wars?
