    1. Boer War - Argylls
    2. I have only just logged on to this address to see if anyone can guide me in finding information about my great grandfather. Alfred John Platten (might have been called Frederick, born Hoveton St Peter, Norfolk) served with the Argylls in the Boer War and returned with shrapnel in his head. Is is possible to find a list of names and where they served or if a ship logged names of returned casualties. Apparently, someone in the family held photos/letters and his rank but these appear to lost. Any guidance appreciated Christine Thorpe ---------------------------------------------- This mail sent through http://www.ukonline.net
