Dear List, I have just found a family member on the 1901 census for Lincolnshire, UK (where he belongs) but he has a wife and child born in Cape Colony, Queenstown, South Africa. In 1891 he was living at home in Grimsby, Lincolnshire with his parents and was a coachbuilders apprentice. Do you think that he had been out to SA fought in the Boer War and returned home? If so where can I get information to confirm this? If not what was he doing out there, are there shipping lists to SA? Any help to solve this little puzzle would be gratefully received.
