David, Thank you so much! This would definitely be him as he did live in Boyndie at the time of his marriage in 1905 and he had a brother named John R. Barron (their mother's maiden name was Reid). Maggie, Have you tried accessing the National Archives to see if anyone with the Barron surname received a medal during WW1? Andy
