Could anyone tell me how to get the records of James Mellors regimental no.1888 Coldstream Guards,who won a South African medal with 5 clasps.He is my wifes grt granddad, we have a photo of him in his uniform with grt grandmother.Have visited Kew but found that the muster rolls for this regiment only went up to 1888,was hoping they would cover the 1899-1902 war.The Coldstream archives require us to have birth certs etc.for them to help, which we haven't got.Hope someone can help, Colin White

I supplied a researcher with my gg father service number -engraved on the side of the medal and his was able to obtain a complete service record form Kew- including the period in India immediatley before the service in S.A. So they should be there! June.
