    1. [BOER-WAR] Re: Salonica in WWI
    2. John Wilson
    3. Hi Pat & List: Details of the Anglo-French WWI Salonica Campaign in northern Greece from 1915 in support of the Serbs is given in: http://www.salonika.freeserve.co.uk/ Yours, John Wilson (Wellington, New Zealand) > I haven't any information on my grandad's army days. His daughter is still alive but all she can remember is that he was in Salonica Egypt and she thinks he was a driver. He used to also have lots of framed postcards(like panoramic photos, wide and very narrow ) of Egypt on the wall when I was young. He was born in 1883 so I figured it may have been Boar War 1899-1902, if he lied about his age .However it seems that this war was in and around Johannesburg and not in Egypt! So therefore I do not know which war or where to start with the search. I was trying to find possible regiments he may have been in. Can anyone shed any light on where Salonica is. I found it in the Atlas which referred me to Thessalonika in Greece! Was there another Salonica somewhere? > > Pat >
