Suber, 94, who departed this life Monday, Feb. 23, 2015, at St. Elizabeth Health Center. (Mahoning County) Mrs. Suber was born on Feb. 12, 1921, in West Middlesex, Pa., a daughter of Frank and Mable White Boatwright. She was a secretary for the Y.M.C.A.; a former member, with her children, of St. John A.M.E. Church in Struthers, Ohio; a member of St. Andrewes, its Stewart board, Missionary Society, Pastor's Aide, Quarterly Conference secretary, director for 10 years of its vacation Bible school, for many years was Pink Tea coordinator and co-editor of the Pink Tea book, and was known as "the Pink Tea Lady;" special project coordinator at the Lee Memorial AME Church of Cleveland, Ohio for many years, and when she retired the whole program was named after her; life member of Missionary Society of North Ohio Conference Branch of the AME Church; and member of the Spiritual Life Committee of the YMCA. Her husband, Larke Suber Sr., whom she married in 1939, died in 2000. She leaves a daughter, Jacquelyn C. (John) Carter of Youngstown, Ohio; a son, Larke Suber Jr. of Newark, N.J.; two sisters, Frances B. Allen, of Youngstown and Sara Jane Johnson of Campbell, Ohio; grandchildren Mark A. (Sebrena) of Columbus, Michele A. of Youngstown, Wesley (Temika) of Trenton, N.J., Simone of Baltimore, Durbin, Maxine, Michael, Chrystal, Quinn, and Valerie, all of Mt. Clemons, Michigan; seven great-grandchildren; and 29 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a stepson and daughter-in-law, William and Jewell Thomas; a brother, Benjamin Boatwright; and a sister, Lucille McMullen. Friends may call from 11 a.m. to noon, Tuesday, at the church. Arrangements are being handled by the F.D. Mason Memorial Funeral Home.
