McKasson in Dawes application. In this affidavit swore he new William Stanton because he was married to Wm's niece. Several entries in the Choctaw application/census cards, indicate Allen and Susan are the parents of Ruthy. Since McKasson's wife Mary Jane was the daughter of Ruthey Boatwright Mosby, is proof enough for me that Ruthy and Wm are siblings until proven otherwise. Just proves we need to keep digging and don't skip the fine print.. Good luck all Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Too many names connected with Ruth. Her name has been spelled several ways. In the earlier mentioned court record, No. 230, Pages 114-115 of the County Court Records of Tobucksy County, Choctaw Nation, February [10] 1898, her name was spelled Mosby. I have seen it on other verifiable records as Moseby, Mosely and Mosley. There is another Ruthie Boatwright in the family..a Ruthie L. who is a daughter to Thomas J. I am sure this is the same as Ruth Stanton. I think at some point she was also married to a John Trout and they had a son, or her stepson John H. Trout. I don't know where the statement is that says Ruthie Stanton Boatwright was a sister to William Stanton. I have suspected it for a long time, but only "proved" it lately. S. McKasson, who married Mary J. Boatwright, that says he knows William Stanton because he (T. S.) married his (Wm.) niece. Would that not make William and Ruthie siblings. On Choctaw CC #4506 (Ruthie Mosely, [nee Stanton]) lists her parents as Allen Stanton and Susie Stanton [nee Lyles]). I take that as a connection for Allen to also be William M. I had not seen it before and appreciate all new information! However, for the sake of anyone else who may follow this thread, I'd like to make aware that the information on that site is incorrect. The lengthy info provided by the Texas Handbook from the TX Hist. Society is correct, as it is simply copied (complete with all the 'qv's') word for word from their online site. When it comes to the family 'outline' however, there are numerous errors, and a serious mistake exists when it comes to William Boatwright, the son of Thomas and Amy (Rushing). The author of that site reported incorrectly that: WILLIAM BOATRIGHT, b. 1814, Illinois; m. SARAH UNKNOWN, 1839. What 'is' correct is that William, b. 1817 IL, the son of Lewis md. Sarah Unknown. Following that author's information, I see that these Williams have been interchanged throughout the text. The following IS THE CORRECT info for William Boatwright and Amy Rushing's children: a. First, I wondered if you noticed the posting regarding Bob Boatwright, who is evidently also an architect? I thought this was a rather neat story: 'The University of Richmond in September will open Robins Stadium, a $25 million on-campus football facility being built by Hourigan Construction. The senior superintendent of the project is Bob Boatwright, whose family tree includes the man who was Richmond's esteemed president 1895-1946.' Also, I wondered if you were ever able to track anything down on William [b. 1814 IL] Boatwright's parents - or the maiden name of his wife, Mary? I continue to work on finding leads - one of these days, the right clue is going to turn up and answer this mystery! If my William is really the son of Thomas/Amy, Washington Co, AR would be a logical place for him to be - OR, it could be just one more son named William in the Boatwright clan of Austin, TX. [other info exists on the Austin, TX Boatwrights residing in Washington Co, AR]. I haven't been able to follow the path of this Wash Co., AR 'William Boatwright', but his age fits, and his disappearance from AR would make sense if he moved to MO by 1850. I've just sent a check to a Midwest Hist Soc that has AR marriage records during this time period. Perhaps something will come of that. It's puzzling why he would cross the entire state of MO to settle? One census record states his wife Mary was born in MO, but another decade lists her birthstate as TN... I would also like to prove/disprove if the below William listed in the 1833 TX land requests is my William b. 1814 IL or the William who md. Nancy?: 1860 Johnson, Texas Wm Boatwright 44 b.
