He married Alice (Allie) Pankey and they had 5 children-Ruby, Horace, Opal, Mabel and Helen. Horace was a school teacher for many years & married Myra Hollingsworth of Bankston. Opal married Tommie Hollingsworth (Myra's brother), he was a farmer in Bankston. Mabel married Otis Reynolds of Brushy township, a farmer at that time, but later Deputy County Clerk. They had one child, William Brooks. No mention of a possible suicide was ever mentioned in private or any letters or ledgers that I have of the family. They're all buried in Old Brushy Cemetery in Harco, Saline County, Illinois.
