I don't know much about the Boatrights in VA after the Rev War. They followed a part og my Trammell family along with Daniel Boone and Davey Crockett who intermarried with TraMMELLS. They all fought with Andrew Jackson, including the Choctaw and Cherokee, in the Creeek wars. They lost their landfor that of course. The Trammells and others received land grants for fighting in the Rev war. Their land was in the Cumberland Gap area of TN. Of c ourse, the 13 original colonies went to the MS river at that time. I just haven't had time to check for rev soldiers land grants for the Boatrights. My tie with the BoATRIGHTS begins with Thomas and Patsy Boatright who went with Austin's first 300 into TX. They came from ARK where they were sold land grants illegally from a Capt;. Lovely. I believe they were given other land in mArk. Anyway, Thomas got disgusted with the Mexican gov't's demands and their refusal to give him his land grant. He and Amy returned to ARK in the 1830's. This is also a time when a lot of the Trammells and Boatrights died. I have found no record of any epidemic in Ark (Crawford Co). So, my personal opinion is that Thomas or someone who returned to Ark from TX had yellow fever and a lot of our family died. I do know that there was a Valentine Boatright there who was widowed and his children were kept by Trammells and Smoots and Boatrigts. After this some of these orphaned children went with Amy Boatright back to TX. Her land was finally grantyed. two orphans were Burke Trammell and and James Trammell. Burke was killed atthe Alamo. I do know that the Trammells went to OK and TX. Thomas Trammell started Sweetwater TX/ James Trammell had a ranch called the Paddle ranch on the OK side and his brother had a large ranch on the TX side. They raised quarter horses. Also trained polo ponies. Thomas and Patsy were my 5th great grand parents. Their daughter Patsy m Thomas Trammell. They both died during whatever happened in ARK in 1830 This left my grandfather Lewis an orphan. He was cared for by TrAMMELL family members. I don't know if this helps you any. As you can see, there was a lot of re-naming within these families. Good luck and happy hunting. LIN DA
