Hi, Several months ago we setup a Boatright/Boatwright Surname DNA study with Family Tree DNA. This is an opportunity for us to answer some of the questions we have about the common origins for many of our Boatwright lines. I have been active in several of the other studies, and they have given very interesting results. We should see similar results for the Boatwrights. We were going to wait until we could setup a great web site to track the results before making this study active, but FTDNA has given us an incentive to get into gear this month. The company has issued the project two $30 off certificates on their 25 or 37 marker Y-DNA tests. These are the tests that only males named Boatright or Boatwright can take as they track the male line pedigree. father to son. They have also have given us a $15 off certificate on an mtDNA test that is used for testing the maternal line as it is passed from a mother to all of her children. Anyone can take this test. (This is the type of testing that was done to show that all people of European descent are descended from one of seven women. This is the basis of the book "Seven Daughters of Eve".) Hi, Last night a Boatwright won $1,000,000 on Survivor. Danni Boatwright won the latest Survivor series on CBS. Does anyone have her in their files? Here is her biography from the CBS web site : http://www.cbs.com/primetime/survivor11/survivors/bio_danni.shtml Danni Boatwright represented the state of Kansas at the 1992 Miss Teen USA pageant in Biloxi, Mississippi, and was second runner up to the title. She also represented Kansas at the 1996 Miss USA Pageant, where she won all preliminary judging and was first runner up to the title of MISS USA. She was voted one of the "100 Most Beautiful Women." Boatwright has traveled around the world as an international model in Italy, England, Germany, France, Mexico, South Africa, Australia and Tunisia. At the age of 17, she was chosen to be on "Star Search" as a spokesmodel and contestant. She was the youngest ever chosen to appear on the show in this category. Boatwright has also appeared in numerous television and print advertisements With all of her accomplishments, Boatwright's passion has been and will always be sports. Having grown up with seven brothers, she developed a keen competitive edge. Boatwright was a high school athlete who competed in basketball, volleyball, cross country and track where, as a freshman, she help set a record in the two mile relay that still stands today.
