I have absolutely no documentation on the ancestry of our James Boatwright b 1745 Cumberland Co VA. and have not indicated to any person such ancestry. I do have the possibilities that have been cited by Rains and others that indicates rather strongly that James's father was James , his brother Daniel b abt 1739, his uncle John and his grandfather's surname was Allen. The "Allen" letter, of which copies actually exist, from one of James's granddaughters to another, seems to support at least the Allen portion of the foregoing. Jerry Gerald M.
