Karen, I have a Friend Boatwright on my family tree. He is my 3rd great grand-uncle. I have dates for him of: birth year 1801 in Illinois and death year 1848 in Oakland, TX. He was married to a Lydia Sparks. I found the birth date on familysearch.org. I have parents listed for him also along with siblings. If any of this helps you can email me at _kerihan@aol.com_ (mailto:kerihan@aol.com) . Her father was Mike Boatright, and she had an uncle named Friend Boatright. I am trying to trace our family back as far as possible, but at least as far back as Austin's colony in Texas. Friend and Thomas Boatright were both part of this colony. I'm thinking that Friend must be a family name and I can find the connection. I have also heard that Leland Carter wrote a book called "Thomas Boatright, Texas Colonist 1821'. However, I have been unable to locate the book or the author. If anyone can help, I would greatly appreciate it.
