    1. [BOATRIGHT-L] Frances Tinsley Boatright/Boatwright
    2. Pam Kasey
    3. I believe the question has been put to this group before, but has any researcher on this list come across an explanation for the origins of Frances Tinsley Boatright/Boatwright? She was born 1793 or 4 Jan 1799, Cumberland Co., VA, married Singleton Lile Kasey 28 Oct 1822 in Bedford Co., VA, and died 3 Jan 1865 in Breckinridge or Hardin County, KY. She is buried in the Grandview/Kasey Cemetery in Breckinridge Co., KY. Some have said that James M. Boatwright (~1768, Cumberland, VA - after 1 June 1850, Campbell Co., VA) was her father. I have not seen evidence of that, though she was born in the middle of the time frame in which his other children were born. What I think is strange is that James M.'s brother John Joseph's wife was named Frances (or Elizabeth)Tinsley. How often does a man name a daughter after his brother's wife? John Joseph was having children in the 1790s, too. Couldn't he be the father? Frances Tinsley is my ggg grandmother. 3. HI Donna My census of Boat(w)rights for 1900 Saline CO. IL shows Albert and Alice that they and their fathers were all b in IL. Albert in 1867 and Alice in 1868. The ch Horace b in IL in 1891, Opal in IL in 1891 or 1892 and Mabel b in IL in 1893 or 1894. The 1880 census shows Albert's father as Herman or Harmon b in IL in1840 and his father b in TN. His mother Lucy A b 1846 in IL and her father b in KY. The 1860 census Saline Co. IL shows a Harmon b 1841 in IL as the son of Daniel b 1802 or 03 in TN. I have some additional census data on this family but nothing else. I have not been able to connect the foregoing Boatwrights of Saline Co. IL with any of the descendents of James Boatwright b 1745 in Cumberland CO VA.or Daniel Boatwright b ca 1739 in Cumberland CO. VA . I have extensive data on both. Alice's fisrt name is Ruby. That could help in your record search. The Pankey's and Boatrights have a well documented history, it's untangling it and finding how you fit in that is tricky. Alice and Albert had four children:Rudy, Horace, Opal and Mabel. Mabel was my great grandmother. In my possession are numerous photos, most with only first names. I also have other items tht Mabel brought out to CA with her. Now, do you have any info on her or a marriage to a reynolds? Son, Billy (b. 1912 or 13) was my grandfather, but we were told he committed suicide when my father was 2 yo. All surviving relatives have taken this and all that family history to their graves. Any help would be appreciated.

According to the marriage record her last name was Gallavant, but according to a family bible her maiden name was Boatright. If anyone has any info on this woman please contact me. I can only find one Gallevant, no Gallavants, on the census', a Richard Gallevant in 1820 SC. The age of household members does not match so I don't think this is a link. He is the Gallevant one indexed in the US for any census year that is indexed. Anyone with info please help.
