    1. Re: [BOATRIGHT-L] Boatright Family
    2. Hello. I read your email about the Va. Boatrights and wonder what you know about them. My 5th g grandparents were Thomas and Amy Boatright. They went with Stephen F. Austin's first 300 settlers to Tx. Before 1830. Their daughter Patsy m Thomas Trammell. They were in Arkansas in 1830 they died and left several orphans. Any info that you have would be greatly appreciated. I know that the Trammells started 1650 in VA. Then received land in TN for fighting in Rev War in Cumberland Gap area. They went to KY with Boone. then Gallatin Co. IL. But I don't know much about the Boatrights. I think that the families were connected for some time before they went to Ark. Thanks. Linda

Here is what I now know about my Indiana Boatrights. My father, Lowell Otis Boatright, was born on Dec 1, 1901 in Indiana. His fathers name was George Boatright and he died in 1912. George Boatright was listed in the 1910 Census as living in Moorseville, Morgan County, Brown Twp., Indiana. At this time he was 33 years of age. The census indicated George was born in Indiana. There was a Stotes Boatright who was a half brother to Lowells grandfather. I beleive Lowell's grandfather was William Burton Boatright. I do not know where Stotes Boatright or William Burton Boatright lived or where their burial place is at. I live close to Moorseville so my plans are to visit the area for further info. Any leads help will be apprecialted. Jack E. Boatright

Son John E. 18 b 1851/52 in TN, dau Rebecca 16 b 1853/54 in TN, son William J. 13 b 1856/57, dau Elizabeth J. 9 b 1860/61and dau Sarah A 2 b 1868/69 in TN I note that there are numerous other Boatrights listed in Giles CO for the years 1840, 1860, 1870, 1880, 1900, 1910 and 1920. Some of these include John E. and William. None of the above appear to be related to my line of Boatwrights that are descendents of James Boatwright b 1745 in Cumberland CO. VA. nor to the descendents of Daniel Boatwright b ca 1739 in Cumberland CO. VA. Austin and left for Texas. I do know that they were in SC and then in AR before going to TX. Any information would be helpful. Unfortunately, I haven't been that successful in my attempts to trace the Boatwright line down. I would be will to pay for the cost of copying and mailing the material you have gathered.
