Vernon, I have some information that I obtained from a Willie Royal Boatright who I visited and interviewed in June of 1965 at his home who lived at Swainsboro, Emanuel County, Georgia. I do have several pages and is not on computer and would be happy to copy them and send by post. Have information on Ruben Sr. and wife Lacey and names and some data of their 10 children as well as Ruben and his second wife Demarice Rich and their eight children. William Brooks Reynolds was my grandfather. At some point in his youth his parents divorced, Mabel remarried Howard Russell, a policeman in Venice Beach California. The story goes like this: While on a business trip to Boulder Colorado, William (Billy) ingested arsenic, and died the same day. It was ruled a suicide. My grandmother remarried, and my father adopted the name McDonald (Richard Brooks McDonald, born Richard Brooks Reynolds b.07/20/1936, Los Angeles, CA. d.02/28/1996, Quiny, CA. Both Billy and his mother are buried in Los Angeles, CA. My father was 2 years old at the time. Any information on the Reynolds would be helpful in my search. Thanks again!!!! He married Alice (Allie) Pankey and they had 5 children-Ruby, Horace, Opal, Mabel and Helen. Horace was a school teacher for many years & married Myra Hollingsworth of Bankston. Opal married Tommie Hollingsworth (Myra's brother), he was a farmer in Bankston. Mabel married Otis Reynolds of Brushy township, a farmer at that time, but later Deputy County Clerk. They had one child, William Brooks. No mention of a possible suicide was ever mentioned in private or any letters or ledgers that I have of the family. They're all buried in Old Brushy Cemetery in Harco, Saline County, Illinois.

I am writing to Maxine Boatright today to see if she might possibly have any more information that has been missed or that would help in finding records. I will let you know what I find out. I am not certain if the uniform is Confederate or Union. Is there any way I can tell? He is wearing a cap, but the brim is turned somewhat upward, which hides most of the front. The uniform has white, or at least light, trim around the collar. There appears to be the hilt of a weapon at the bottom of the picture. Otherwise, there are no distinguishing marks. On the back of the photo is written: "Great Grandfather Boatright of Pauline, Harold, Frank, Doris, and Paul, Father of Frank Boatright who was our Grandfather and father of Harry P. Boatright. Our Great Grandfather's name was also Frank Boatright, Irma said. Our Great Grandfather was also the Great Grandfather of Don L. Boatright of Evansville, In, and Maxine Boatright who lives in Chicago, Il." My father was Don Boatright and he lived with Irma for a time when he was small. I spent some time in the summers with her in Eldorado, IL. I spoke about this with Irma while she was alive and she told me the same about the name Frank, but couldn't really give me anything more detailed. Although, from the front of Frank's Bible, I do have the name of the minister who married Frank and Lucy, the names of the witnesses, and the birth and death dates of some of their kids. Maxine still lives in Chicago. I saw her last year at a reunion of her side of the family. I believe that Doris is still alive as well because I remember Dad saying she called last year.
