This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/BF.2ADIAE/5003 Message Board Post: Okay, my second problem for the day -- one that I have never encountered before -- is that I have one particular poster on my U.S. Railroad Accidents board right now who is taking undue advantage of my admin time and my railroad expert's time by posting and posting....without reading replies carefully, without abiding by board rules, and without writing replies (to replies she's received) that make any sense. It appears that her goal is getting attention from people on the board, rather than using the guidance she's been given. In short, this gal seems to be obsessively posting questions, complaints (about a particular library), and material that is not relevant (or is far beyond the scope) of the typical usage of my board. Thus far, my RR expert and I have been cordial, helpful, and attentive to her needs. I have spent HOURS cleaning up her improperly posted messages (misuse of Surname line, irrelevant Subject lines, misplaced replies to the wrong messages, etc.) and my RR expert has spent hours guiding her and advising her. We are growing weary... Is there a name for these people? How long should an Admin let this go on? As long as the poster appears to be doing legitimate research and is not insulting people, etc., what is an Admin expected to do about a poster who is hogging board resources and using it as a personal free-time companion service? She has not yet gone beyond the line of decency, but I really want to get her off the board. She has just recently been ejected from a major library for exceeding its research request resources, and now she's basically doing a similar thing on my board. What am I allowed to do without getting into trouble with Ancestry's Message Board gods? Thanks, Bree
