Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/topics.rw.admin.badmin/5005.1.1.1.1.2/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Easy to say if: - you don't have many boards - you don't have large boards - you're not amongs those who take pride in trying to clean entier boards and keeping them clean... and there are quite a few of us who do NOW: - we have no more quick way to find transferred threads from other boards - complete the cleaning and editing of old posts without also having to go thru threads that have already been cleaned, which is a total lost of our valuable time - finding posts for which we never received notification, regardless of the reason or from when - what use to be done in a few hours will now take days and more and the more boards an Admin has, the worst it will be And I expect that many will give up on at least part of the maintenance we use to do... many will get behind even on the maintenance of new posts, since: 1- the new system tends to bug 2- some notifications (now Alerts) are not coming thru to Admins 3- it takes more time than before to do the same tasks I would not even be surprise if some Admin simply decided to just quite all of it and for good reason... we are not paid to do this, we are VOLUNTEERS and we do not have to accept it if those in charge complicates our work with disregard to the consequences it has for us... I don't care about having boards with an "hipper" look... what I care about is having boards that usefull and practical for both users and admins... and this new format is anything but that, unfortunatly...!!! We all have the right to our opinions... after all, we're the one doing the work on those boards... not Santa Claus...lol By the way... I've been using computer for more than 20 years... I am use to dealing with changes and I can make the difference between changes that are an improvement and those who are not... this one is not and it was poorly handled to top it all...
