It explains how a reply establishes a thread--if you change the topic of the thread, then it stands to reason you need to start a new thread and a new topic/subject. Otherwise, the thread and subject of that thread should remain the same and the Re: in the subject establishes the fact that this is a reply and not an original message in the thread. Gee, that seemed almost too basic to have to include in my previous reply. Joan
