It is SO much easier to follow them that way even if mail alerts ARE working. That is especially true for people using AOL mail, of course, because the links in the emails are not clickable. However, going board to board down the online list of Alerts, everything is clickable. It's even usually updated in time so that I don't even have to access boards where staff has already deleted spam. The only warning I'd give is to be SURE all boards you admin and any others you are interested in following (Boards Admins for example) are included in My Alerts.
