The borders of central and eastern Europe have changed drastically over the last 200 years. It can be truly impossible to be able to move a mis-placed post onto the correct board without knowledge of a particular country's geography and history. I do my best to figure out what board the post belongs on, but sometimes a) I can't find any map site in English that gives enough info for me to figure it out and b) sometimes there isn't a surname board to move it to either (if any surnames are even mentioned in the post). So, like Tilman, I move it to the country's general board, even though it doesn't really belong there either. Which is why it would be nice for some sort of notice of when posts are moved onto my boards, especially the Poland general board. I've been researching my Polish ancestry for 20 years now, and learning the geographical history of the country was imperative to my research. I'd rather spend five minutes figuring out where a mis-placed post belongs than having another admin waste a half-hour or more of their time trying to figure it out and still ending up moving the post to the general board because they couldn't find the answer or gave up trying. -Marie
