I'm having two problems that are probably related. First -- am I the only one that cannot Edit the Board Information? When I click on the Edit link, the page reloads *** and my login has been reset (IOW I must log in again). Second, it appears that my log in does not always bring up my administrative privileges. I'm wondering if this has anything to do with the fact that I use the same login information for my ancestry account as well as for my rootsweb administrator functions. thanks, Tom Cloud
Probably not Tom. Once you set username/password with Ancestry, it works for all Ancestry functions. The extra thing you must do is to set your system to accept cookies from the boards. You also have the ability to reject cookies left by companies you don't want to hear from. It is helpful to me to go into IE a couple of times a month and delete the cookies, webpages kept in temporary folders, and visited websites. Then you go back to ancestry and log in with your un/pw and everything should be ok for awhile. There can be other issues to that can happen, with ancestry servers for example, and you'll just have to work through those. I hope this helps. donkelly ----- Original Message ----- From: Tom Cloud <tcloud@austin.rr.com> To: BOARDS-ADMINS@rootsweb.com Sent: Mon, 12 Oct 2009 12:58:11 +0000 (UTC) Subject: [BAd] question/help with Board Info and cookies I'm having two problems that are probably related.
