    3. Roxanne, I don't have time to go to the boards right now to reply there, so am replying directly to you with a copy to the list. I can help you solve both of your problems all at once. Whenever you get a notification, or a gatewayed post coming through your list, don't click on it. Instead, copy it and paste it into your browser but don't hit enter. Next, change /an/ to /rw/ to get to the Rootsweb interface, and change /msg/ to /admin.msg/ to get to the Administrator view. Once the URL has been altered, hit enter, and you'll be taken to the page that wants your username and password, and then to that message on your board in admin mode with the Rootsweb interface. As an example, take the URL in this gatewayed message: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/BF.2ADIAE/1191 If it had been http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/BF.2ADIAE/1191 it would bring up the Ancestry interface. So assuming it comes in as -- http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/BF.2ADIAE/1191 You would change it to -- http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/admin.msg/rw/BF.2ADIAE/1191 ...and then you would hit enter. Of course the link above will only work for the board admin for the board on which you posted your message. I do this link editing all the time...anytime I want to get to a message that I need to edit for the surname line, etc. -- Mary On Thu, 3 Aug 2006 rmunns@uwalumni.com wrote: > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Classification: Query > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/BF.2ADIAE/1191 > > Message Board Post: > > I'm having problems with my notifications coming through Ancestry. > Then, if I do have to edit the surnames or category, how do I switch to > having administrator rights?
