I guess we don't have lives or need to plan or need to be informed volunteers. I guess the main question I'd like answered is how long the boards will be down. I know how this worked the last time there were major changes in the boards. How it generally works is that the boards have to be shut down so that there won't be any changes made to them (under the old system) and then a "data dump" is done to move all the posts over to the new system and once that massive transfer takes place and any major migration bugs are swatted the new boards are open for use. The last time this was done in late June 2001 the boards were down for more than a week while all the data was transferred and things were put in order. So I think we need to know a specific time when the boards will go down and a rough estimate for when the new system will be up and running--plus we need information on the use of the new admin tools so we'll be ready when the new boards are up and running. Also we'll need information on the functionality of the new boards so we can attempt to educate board users. I'm quite sure the functionality is very different from the current system so there will be a learning curve. Joan
