Ohhh YES it was a FULL COPY of MY words (to another Admin, here, on THIS list in 2006 --- 200-SIX! and my post about a totally different issue/topic!!! but it just mentioned deleting posts ) And YES, I had already done exactly what you suggested-- I marked it as Abuse> Harrassment and said the poster should not be copying a LIST message that I placed in 2006 and posting it in full onto a totally different Board in 2009. The poster is just in this "I'll show you!" and "I know more than you do" kind of mood. I know Admins can sometimes become "targets" and I really do try to remain calm and pleasant. But sometimes, people go to extremes to "prove their point" -- even if they are wrong! I don't think Admins should have to put up with such harrassment. So I have asked Staff to intervene. And.... I'm at the point this week to quit if Staff hasn't intervened. It's just not worth it to be attacked once, twice, and more on Boards. People get snarky on these WAP boards and act like the Boards are more like social networking arenas instead of an area for dedicated genealogists/researchers/volunteers. It's also irritating just how many people don't realize that using "You-you-you" in statements can come across as attacking-- or are indeed blatant attacks. (example, small: Well, who would think you would understand." to example, big: We all know you key those names wrong.) Hasn't anyone taught diplomacy?? Or that stating sentences with "I think" or "I believe" or "I wonder if" can soften most criticisms into helpful communication?? Arrrgh!
