Just to keep you all in touch with things, I have now sent this complaint to "Rootsweb Support" via the Help Desk tab: <start complaint> WHY is a message about problems with the message boards placed at http://helpdesk.rootsweb.com/ which is the old, obsolete Help Desk link that is no longer accessed by clicking on the HELP tab on Rootsweb pages? Currently there is a message there that says: 1 Message Boards: 2008-01-18 We have upgraded our message board hardware and everything went well. There are still a few errors that are occuring, one of the features that is not working currently is Request New Board and another is our email notification links. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience while we work to restore these features. Est. downtime: (s) <end quote> Fat lot of use it is doing there, where no-one is going to see it. My fellow admins and I are having difficulties since the boards were moved to the new server, and we need to see that message. (I have reported these problems to [email protected]) Meanwhile, at the new Help Desk page we're told: Announcement 2008-01-18 Due to the holiday on Monday, January 21, we may be a little slow in answering your emails. <end quote> Not as much help to those of us who volunteer to assist Rootsweb as the message that was placed our of our sight!
