Sure enough, it was there, but in my case it also showed up in the recycle bin. I just deleted it again, and now there are two of "it" in the recycle bin, but as far as I can tell it hasn't shown up on the message board again, but I'll got back and check that again when some time has passed. I didn't get "shadow" posts on posts I deleted -- only on posts that I moved out of a thread but back to the same board.
