To all: For up-to-date information on the current maintenance issues, please check the Board Information News posting of 28 January. Admin for Boards-Admins MailList
Elaine - I'll probably get in trouble for this, but what the heck: It's about time. I read this on the mailing list and it took me a minute or two to figure out just where to find the Board Information News posting of 28 January. A URL or the message itself would have been handy - but then I usually think like a list manager not like a board manager, so I guess it is my fault. It is also interesting that the notice directed us to " the Board Information News posting of 28 January" when the message board is called "Administrator News". Perhaps "please check the Administrator News message board posting for 28 January" would have made it easier for us to find. I searched for 15 minutes and never figured out where the message was. Of course I started with the "FAQs & Help-Related Resources" and only saw the announcement of 22 January. I had begun to wonder if a cookie on my computer was preventing the updated page from opening. Another suggestion: How about Gatewaying Administrator News message board to the Boards-Admins list? That way, we would receive the most recent board postings in a time-efficient manner and relieve Elaine from having to post a message to the list instructing us to check the board for a newly posted message. Another question: How long will it be before additional changes are held off until Beta testing can be carried out to weed out as many "bugs" as possible and improving the possibility of the system's ability to continue to work in a somewhat smooth manner?
