I almost never change or edit a poster's subject on a new message, but I do edit the subject of subsequent replies to fit the content. For instance, some folks like to list all the surnames in a subject, and often the replies it receives pertain to only one or some of those surnames. About 99% of the time, the poster doesn't edit the subject and leaves all of those surnames in the subject field of their reply. I will remove the extraneous surnames, since they have nothing to do with the message content and will only generate false matches for someone using the search engine. Marie
