Halsey Halsey- I think perhaps you have misunderstood the reason for the MERCEREAU variant list not being created. RootsWeb never denies a request for a variant surname list as long as you would be willing to admin the list once it is created. At present there is a general moratorium on the creation of new lists until the new list management system is in place--might this have been why your list was denied--or rather delayed? Joan
