Hi, http://boards.ancestry.com/thread.aspx?mv=tree&m=5210&p=localities.ceeurope.austria.general is a smallish thread - now I got an objection + request to have the 1st message in the thread deleted. How do you handle this? How can I be sure he actually IS the author? The board only has "Anonymous" ... Thanks Tilman
Tilman, Just my own opinion, and certainly subject to other opinions from other folks, but if it appears to be a legitimate post then I would not remove it until such a time as the objection can be determined to come from the author of the post. If it is an objectionable or inappropriate post for whatever the reason, then I would remove it without regard to who asked me to do so. I'm not a big fan of not having names on posts, but that is the system we have to work with so there is not much we can do about it. David E. Well, no name no verification....cannot be reached to ask questions. No verification no deleation. He/she may not even be the original author, so no chance......it seems to me. donkelly ----- Original Message ----- From: Tilman Brandl <arbit@gmx.at> To: boards-admins@rootsweb.com Sent: Fri, 13 Mar 2009 18:45:10 +0000 (UTC) Subject: [BAd] (Non)Author wants thread to be deleted ..
