As always, the board or the list administrator could ask to have the gateway closed or the list admin could put the gateway on moderation (once the gateway address gets straightened out), thereby allowing only some posts to reach the lists. I'm interested to know why you'd want to close the open gateway? Isn't it better to also have list input to a board poster's query? All but one of my boards are open (list admin closed it), and in most cases, I also admin the list, so this is a new question for me, that I hadn't thought of.
