Why would any volunteer list admin need to or want to spend the money on attorney consultation? That is ridiculous. There are already BOARD rules in place. Personal attacks on lists and message boards are not up for a vote. They are violations of TOS. The admin should delete these posts and LET THE DATA stay on the boards. Post a link to COPYRIGHT websites and the COPYRIGHT list privately and NOT on the message board. Your job is not to referee these people but to make sure the rules are followed and in worst case scenario contact the HELP DESK. "Author" has written a family surname book and is trying to prevent other family researchers from posting anything about the family and claiming copyright violations. Several other family members are posting genealogical information to the boards which "Author" responds to with a nasty post of her own then lodges complaints to the board administrator (me) and Rootsweb. I am getting complaints from both sides of the issue and I don't want to choose sides since I have no idea who is right or wrong so I have been deleting both posts. I hate to do this since the genealogical information is probably valuable to many people but if I don't handle the situation quickly it will escalate. These folks have been flaming each other for months now on the surname boards and have now carried it over to one of the county boards that I administer. I meant to say BOARD & LIST ADMINS. On 9/27/06, Kathie Harrison <harrison28@gmail.com> wrote: > Why would any volunteer list admin need to or want to spend the money > on attorney consultation?
