Hi, Tammy- While it isn't against any board admin rules for the admin to post informative posts ON their board, and while I also agree with you that researchers would get the most out of reading both the LIST and the BAORD, but--I'd recommend that you NOT post any board admin notices on the board. I've cleaned up many a board I've adopted where a prior admin had done this and those admin notices are seldom read by the people who need the information most and soon become old and clutter up the board with what really are off-topic posts for the board subject matter--they are administrative in nature. I've had to remove these admin notices from boards where the admin is no longer the admin! You can't really worry about the list admin not wanting to open the gateway--just make your board accessible and useable to anyone who wants to conduct their on-topic research there. Joan --------- Would it be considered against the rules if I made a post on the County Message Board that I am the administer of and mention to the posters that it may be a good idea to join the mailing list for the same county? The admin for the county does not want the two connected through a gateway and I sincerely believe that having the people who utilize the two may find it beneficial if they could just connect together with their searches. I don't want to do anything that would be considered against the rules though. Any input? Thank you for your time... Tammy **************It's Tax Time!
