Fiona- One rule of thumb is that a reply can remain in the thread regardless of its relevancy to the board provided that the thread started off being relevant to the board. An additional rule of thumb for replies in a thread is that the reply must be relevant to the post it is in response to--in other words if the post is about SMITHs in Canada and the reply says I have SMITHs in California -- that is most likely not related to the original post unless it is referencing the SMITHs mentioned in the post being replied to. If not, the reply can be moved to start a new thread either on the same board (if it is on-topic for the current board) or a different one (if not). Joan ------------------------------ I don't want to dampen the enthusiasm of anyone, but it doesn't have much to do with the original topic being discussed. Though of course there is a remote chance that there may be a relationship Can I move the post sideways on the board and start a new thread with it so it stands as it's own thread? Thus keeping them both on topic - or is that just not done? **************Create a Home Theater Like the Pros. Watch the video on AOL Home.
