I know I'm replying to my own post here, but let me add something else to consider before someone gives any thought to doing this. Keeping in mind that SOME boards are gatewayed (like ALL of mine), if you post what is properly sent only to the poster, then it will also go to the companion list as well, unless you temporarily block the gateway for a few minutes, so you might want to keep this in mind. I don't know if this is feasible (or even advisable) for general use or not, but when I clean a board post and the surname fields are not TOO bad, I simply edit them and leave it at that. If it is really more than just a minor problem, then I post my own reply after my editing is completed and point out the problem. After waiting a minute or two for the system to send my reply to them via e-mail, I then delete my board response. Don't know if this is worth considering by anyone else or not, but it does seem to help "long run" in at least a few cases. Just something to consider. David E.
