Lauren- You may have helped me resolve this issue or at least get the right question <g>. The posts ARE on the SHARP board and also on the USA board and I distinctly remember moving a post from USA to SHARP--BUT these three posts are not identical--only the two on the SHARP board are identical: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.sharp/3767/mb.ashx http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.sharp/3766/mb.ashx http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.general/19992.1.1/mb.ashx So this wouldn't be a good example of what I thought I was seeing. The subject lines and posting times are not identical. I'm starting to think that what I might be observing is posts being moved from one board to another by various admins and in the process lots of dupes are shaking out and some posts being moved to boards where they don't belong. So maybe we just need to keep our eyes out for dupes and newly moved misplaced posts. However...that said...I review the USA board at least 4 or 5 times a day and I'm finding not one--but a hundred or more posts that were posted over the past few months on that board (or at least dated over the past few months) that are UNmarked with objections but are misplaced. I'm seriously wondering WHERE they came from--I would have marked them if they wouldn't move. I mean many are OBVIOUSLY misplaced -- like software questions, Ancestry questions--nothing to do with the USA. Even if in a weak moment I missed marking one--I wouldn't have missed marking a hundred old posts over the past few months. So I guess rather than looking for whether posts that I already moved left ghosts on the USA board my real question is where did all these misplaced UNmarked posts COME from? I found it only to be listed as located on the Message Boards > Localities > North America > United States > General board. I have not peeked at the Sharp board. Perhaps it is something again to do with re-indexing? I am sure they will get things figured out.... eventually! lol Cheers, Lauren
