    3. Well that's ok Tim, I just have seen some others who frequently think their lists are boards and vice-versa. Must be some new admins. Plus I think the heat is getting to us all, [grin] Chalk it up to the summer grumpies for me. On Fri, Jul 31, 2009 at 4:06 PM, Tim Singleton<tsingleton000@gmail.com> wrote: > Sorry, my error. 3. No, probably very few posters actually read the board info. But it's very frustrating to go to the trouble of doing it, and then it all gets wiped out with no warning, no explanation, no apology, no nothing. I have back-ups, too, but I probably won't bother to re-load them. If they don't fix it, will it really be that great a loss? I rarely saw a Board with anything under info except the address -- and I do look. 2. Hmmm...I haven't had any trouble with the edit feature -- only board info. So your problem sounds like a different issue but most likely one related to the current "tinkering" with the boards by the developers. Joan In a message dated 7/18/2009 11:43:25 A.M. 2. Yvonne- True -- but there would be a happy medium in squished vs. over-justified. <g> The HelpDesk replied to me that they were working on the board info feature and that is why our custom pages are temporarily not there. I was told to keep an eye on the situation and it probably would be restored soon. Joan In a message dated 7/18/2009 11:20:17 A.M. After the last update, the page was over-justified left - there was no left margin and the words were almost off the page (Firefox 3.0.11 on Mac 10.5.7). I reported it to the HelpDesk, was told they didn't know what the problem was and I have lived with it since. But now after reading Jim's message and checking for myself I find that although the page looks better, all my custom info is gone and I also can't open the editor. I hope all that hard work customizing the board info isn't gone for good. That would be a serious drag and I'm not sure I'm into recreating it all again. Thanks for reporting it to the HelpDesk, Joan. Yvonne

    3. It appears that all of the board information pages have been changed. All of the ones of mine that I've checked are now all the same, plain with just the "Welcome to" line and the Admin. contact info..... None of the pages that I had done with HTML are left. 2. Jim- I haven't tried to do it but I did notice that my boards that had customized messages have reverted to the standard/generic message. Plus I have one board that I used to co-admin (back in the days when admins could share admin duties) with another admin who is now deceased. Our customized board info page listed the two of us among other things. Now that the board has reverted to the generic default board info page the other admin's now defunct email address is listed as the ONLY admin (although I still can access the admin functions and process them). So something has gotten screwed up with this "feature." Also--the RootsWeb interface has now reverted to the squished in format that doesn't fill the page. I've reported the board info issue to the HelpDesk. Joan In a message dated 7/17/2009 11:47:54 A.M. 3. Another option would be to use 'report abuse' and ask the staff to review the post. If it's gone then you have an answer, and if the objection is gone but the post remains; you still have an answer.
