Hi All Can anyone help? I've received a note from an individual stating that she's received notifications to posts not associated with her email address. I've checked her address and noted that she has only ever posted with this particular email address twice at RW/Ancestry. Somehow she's getting Notification messages regarding posts she hasn't made. See her comment to me below: "Hi Jill, I've had several messages not related to my enquiry that have come through. I'm wondering if its something that I'm doing wrong! If you can help me solve the problem I'd be grateful. Regards, Mary, Australia" How should I direct her? Thanks Jill ^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~
Hi everyone! Perhaps it would be best to report this problem to Help Desk. Lynne, I've received nothing since Sunday. Bob
Haven't received notifications in two days, despite lots of posts to the boards. Anyone else having a problem? Lynne

Just a bit of humor as a break to cleaning boards... Speaking of persons in the 1800s, this was in one of the posts: "most of then broke up in pa and went either to ohio or michigan or sadly passed on" Gee what else can be expected of someone born in 1800??? ROFLMAO They'd be awfully ancient had they not passed on already. Unless they had superior longevity genes. LOLOL Must be someone new to genealogy or just hadn't stopped to think about what they were typing. (By the way, I get a kick out of DNA inquiries when folks ask about "jeans" or "jeens" hehehehe). One of the duplicates has only one reply so I would like to move that reply to the other duplicate and delete the first duplicate. Using surnames.xxxx/nnnn to move it to the right post number doesn't appear to work. Any suggestions?
Most likely because both are off topic, since the board topic is most likely "Unknown county or multiple counties," but that is a guess. In any event, if they were removed by staff then they would be who you should be asking, but they would not do it without valid reason (and likely someone reporting them using the "Report Abuse" option) and you may not get any response if you were to ask. The addy is messageboards@rootsweb.com if you want to try. David E. I can't understand why they would have been removed from the board (and they were not removed by me), as they both pertain to Illinois research. Both messages were from the same person. Message # 1 "Seeking information on cemeteries that were in existence in Cass County, IL in 1863. Any recommendations will be appreciated." Message # 2 "Seeking information on V. N. Snook photographer. Need to know the time frame when he was operating his studio in Aurora IL." If the thinking was that they should have been moved to the appropriate county boards, then why were they just summarily dumped in the Recycle Bin? Karima

Karima Karima- They were no doubt also posted on the appropriate county boards and cross-posted to other boards as well including your Unknown County board where neither one belongs. Since they would only have created duplicates on their proper boards they were probably deleted as spam by staff. It is really best not to go through your recycle bin and second guess why posts are found there--they were put there for a reason so just leave it at that. Joan
