    1. [BAd] gateways
    2. Diane Hettrick
    3. I just figured out the answer to my question, so I'll share the results. When you go to a board without logging in, there will be a statement if the board is gatewayed to the mailing list. If you log in and go to the administrative center, all you get is a tiny tiny envelope logo on top of the tiny tiny paper logo. Diane Hettrick dhettrick@earthlink.net

    3. Kay: You will find that board messages that contain, for example, we use "www.ftdna.com" or visit our site at "www.ftdna.com/....." will be removed by STAFF as having a commercial link. However -- it is perfectly acceptable to state "we use the services Family Tree DNA for our (Name) DNA Project." This does not include a link to a commercial site. Also -- results of DNA tests are DATA and they are acceptable to be posted on the Boards. The only DNA posts that should be moved to the DNA Announce board would be those that actually *announce* a DNA Project. Updates, questions, results, mention re DNA Projects are not the topic of that board. 1. Re: [BAd] What to do with this kind of Post?
    2. Valeria, In the post mentioned below, I don't see anything wrong with it unless it's posted across multiple boards. You can find that out by clicking on the poster's name and then report it as abuse. Since it's posted on the COOKE surname board, I would immediately stop any posts that start a thread in any of the other surnames given, unless the poster shows a connection to the COOKE surname. 3. I think the splits are natural and are needed. Even though an Admin wondered if a German-speaking board was taking away from genealogy, I see it as a plus. If one does not know how to use (spell) English words, it is a disservice to them to be forced onto English boards. It would be the same if Ancestry only had Japanese-speaking boards now and said all USA posters HAD to use the Japanese-speaking Boards. I do wonder if English-speaking will be able to search the German-speaking boards and vice-versa? Not that I speak another lanuage, but others might find it useful?
