Flat view may work best for you, but not always for me and other admins. If it's a thread that I've already reviewed, there's no value to me to view the thread in flat view -- that just clutters my screen and makes it harder to navigate in the case of a long thread. Like Dan, I'd rather review it in thread view, find the new post, then open that in a new window. I imagine there are also some admins that only review the threads that turn up in their Alerts (formerly Notifications) messages and just use the links contained therein. Lynne

    2. Lynne- There was never a requirement that an admin review old posts on a board that were posted prior to the admin adopting it--unless someone reported the problem with a post to the admin. It's a nice thing to do if your time permits it and if the board isn't TOO large to make such a review counterproductive--but it was NEVER a requirement. There wouldn't be any such thing as a Roth surname adoption board--only one board per surname covering all aspects of that surname. If the post is otherwise appropriate for your board you can leave it there--with one caveat. There are some special rules in the RootsWeb AUP that apply to adoption messages--so you would want to make sure that your message falls within the adoption guideline. You DO have the option of moving adoption posts to the appropriate adoption board though if you prefer. The adoption boards are broken down by US State and by other criteria if a specific geographic area is not mentioned. Click the MOVE MESSAGE link and then navigate through the TOPIC boards to find the appropriate ADOPTION board and once the path to the board appears in the move message box -- click the button to send it on its way. However, before you move the message you should REJECT the objection--because otherwise it will move along with the message to the new location where you cannot delete it. It sounds like one of the people you sent that to got ticked and so, they put your copied email into the Abuse report. What do you mean--a variation of your home address? Their report should show their identity---if you mean they are using a variation of your email as theirs, I might consider telling Staff. Perhaps (?) Staff could review that person's status? Their behavior might qualify as impersonation (?). Do we report every single post, or just one to staff? I've done it both > ways, it gets a little trying when someone has cross posted 20 times or more > as in lots of cases, to report all of them. So what is the correct way of handling it? When you use Report Abuse on "one", put "Att Staff: numerous duplicate posts on different boards." That tells Staff to take care of that objection, and alerts them that many boards are involved. Judy
