Why has the link for the USGenWeb Census Project been removed from our National website?? Why was it replaced with a link to the Archives Census Project which was advised by Motion 99- 4 to cease soliciting census transcriptions and concentrate on transcription of other kinds of data? Removing a link to a Special Project of the USGenWeb Project from the National website is a serious action and requires Board approval. Replacing this link with one to a sub-project that the Board has previously stated should not even exist is, at least improper, at best illegal. In the meanwhile, this unauthorized action has made the efforts of many dedicated volunteers a mockery, inflicted confusion upon them, and will certainly result in alienating many of them.
