    1. [BOARD-L] Filling the NE/NC CC Rep vacancy

    3. Hi folks, The way I see it, we have a couple of options in filling the Board position left vacant by Bonnie's resignation. "Bylaws Article VI Section 8. In the event a board member is unable to complete his/her term, the Advisory Board will appoint a replacement to serve until the next scheduled election." It would be possible to simply name the person who was the runner-up to Bonnie in the election to fill the position until the next election. However, I see this option as basically flawed. Imagine a congressional post made available by a resignation being filled by the resigning congressperson's opponent. I look at this as possibly a better solution: What if we put out a call for those who would like to take over the NE/NC CC Rep position? We allow 1 week (I think this is plenty of time) for these folks to announce to us their desire to fill the vacancy and to submit a short blurb (or resume, or whatever you want to call it) spelling out their qualifications and why they'd like to represent the CCs in this region. These announcement/resumes can be sent to either the NC or to the Board Secretary, who can in turn forward them to the BOARD-EXEC list. There we can discuss and decide over, say, a one-week period.
