I agree it would be good to put out a call and ask people who want to be the NE/NC rep to submit the descriptions above, but it would also be good to at the same time ask the CC's of that region whether they prefer having a special election versus letting the board pick a replacement. An election is fairly time-consuming, and some CC's might prefer to avoid going through another one so soon, but others might think it's worth the time it takes, in order to have more say in who their CC Rep is. I don't think we need a formal poll on whether they'd want to hold an election, though. Maybe just a request to send a message to their remaining CC Rep (Tina Vickery mailto:TVick65536@aol.com) and/or their SC Rep (Joy Fisher mailto:jfisher@ucla.edu ) expressing whether they want an election or not. If the feedback comes in that they don't want an election, then we should at least send the "resumes" to the NE/NC state lists and ask for CC input in making our decision, and give very high weight to what we hear. It is, after all, the CC's of that region whom the Rep is representing. Teri Pettit
