The fact is not all Board seats have been chosen in like manner. The Board selected the Northeast Rep by inquiry of potential applicants and then voted upon those applicants. As all voting seats have equal voting rights - the Board may choose from among several options just how it wishes to fill a seat. >Since the passage of the Bylaws the Advisory Board has seated a replacement >Rep. of each group's choosing, irrespective of any personal likes or >dislikes, and has felt honor-bound to do so as a continuing confirmation of >the bottom-up management desired by the USGenWeb Project's membership. > >The clear choice of the Census Project is Ron Eason, therefore > >I move to appoint Ron Eason as Census Project Representative. >Virginia (Ginger) Cisewski Your motion is out of order - as nominations are not made for appointed positions. You can however recommned Ron's name along with any other other names as an applicant for the position. At the point in time that the Board wishes to close off the applicant list - these recommendations can be taken under advisement. Options at that point would include appointment of a committee to study the names sumbitted and offer one or two to the Board for a vote. Or the Board can decide to select one or none of those on the list of applicants as a committee of the whole. Tim
