I will repeat part of what I wrote the other day. Let the two projects do what they have been doing with two conditions, no duel transcriptions and timely response to transcribers or others. We will get more done this way and it will end this senseless conflict. In my discussions I have noted no will or desire on the part of the managers of either project to co-chair or work more closely than they have in the past. Delinking eliminates a large group of volunteers who can be more gainfully employed in meeting the goal of getting the censuses online. A surprising amount of cooperation can exist below the management level.
