Having dug this one out, I would liek to suggest that any Motion for discussion be announced with an email with it number in the header. This one was buried under the subjectline: Sweeping Out the Corners and I quote: Motion 99-34 - announced as open for discussion on 12/16: 'Now that Joy's motion "to open subscription to BOARD-L on a read-only basis" has received a second from Shari - the Motion numbered 99-34 is now open for discussion.' I would like to hear something about the technical pros and/or cons of this. Am I correct in my understanding of the mail list software that board members only would be on the Accept List and that this function is realtively easy to maintain? If this is technically not a difficulty, I am all for it as it would also enable subscribers to reply dircetoly to a board member's email, thus facilitating hearing from our constituency.
